What it is
The Al Schmitt Signature Plugin was developed by Leapwing Audio in direct collaboration with Al Schmitt himself, who analyzed his own signal chains, hardware, and mix process over decades of sessions. The result is a channel-strip style plugin built around six instrument-specific profiles: Vocal, Piano, Bass, Brass, Strings, and Mix (bus). Each profile bundles EQ, compression, harmonic saturation, and reverb (which Schmitt always called 'echo') in proportions tuned specifically to that instrument type, rather than presenting a one-size-fits-all control set.
