What it is

Alien KickLab is a VST/VST3 kick drum plugin that combines a synthesis engine with a sample engine. The synth side offers pitch sweep, click, body, tail, transient and saturation controls, while the sampler lets you drag and drop your own hits to layer. It also analyzes how your kick and bass interact, flagging problems like phase cancellation and frequency conflicts.

Who it's for

Electronic, hip-hop and bass-heavy producers who spend time getting kicks and basslines to sit together in the low end. It suits anyone who wants to design a kick and fix its relationship with the bass in one plugin.

Key features

• The synthesis engine gives detailed control over pitch sweep, click, body, tail and transients
• The ANALYZE function identifies kick and bass problems, and LOCK LOW END applies automatic corrections to align them
• A factory library of 70 kicks is included, with 20 available in the trial
• A free trial with full functionality and no time limit lets you try it before buying
