What it is

Blackboard EQ is a visual equalizer from CalPochi built around a chalk-style interface that lets you draw EQ curves directly on screen instead of dragging nodes. It layers static EQ, dynamic EQ, saturation, and mid-side processing into one workspace, so a single band can carve frequency, react to level, and add harmonic color at the same time. The result is an EQ that works equally well for clean, surgical corrections and more colored, creative tone shaping.

Who it's for

Mixing and mastering engineers who like working visually and want one plugin that handles precise correction and creative saturation without switching tools, especially producers who think in curves and shapes rather than numbers.

Key features

• Up to 24 customizable EQ bands across eight filter types, including Bell, Shelf, Notch, and Tilt, with slopes from 12 to 96 dB/octave
• Per-band dynamic EQ with threshold and envelope controls automates gain changes in real time
• Per-band saturation adds drive and character to individual frequency ranges instead of the whole mix
• Stereo, mid, and side routing per band, plus Zero Latency and Linear Phase modes with 2x/4x oversampling, cover both tracking and mastering workflows
