What it is
EZkeys MIDI Lo-Fi Hip-Hop is a MIDI expansion pack from Toontrack for its EZkeys Piano software. It contains roughly 200 MIDI files played by a professional session pianist, capturing warm, dusty chords and gently haunting melodies over laid-back grooves. It is a MIDI library, not a standalone instrument, so it needs an activated copy of EZkeys Piano.
Who it's for
Beatmakers and lo-fi producers who want relaxed, melancholic piano progressions as a starting point for tracks. Also useful for anyone who wants human-played chord ideas without writing every part from scratch.
Key features
- Around 200 individual MIDI files performed by a session player
- Each composition is organized into A, B and C sections for easy arrangement
- Tempos run from 60 to 85 BPM, with 4/4 and 6/8 variations
- Straight and swing feels are included, so the patterns fit different groove styles
