FM8 is Native Instruments' digital FM synthesizer, built around 6 operators with a visual Matrix routing system for shaping how they modulate each other. It's known for crystalline bells and keys, deep metallic basses, and evolving pads that classic subtractive synths can't easily produce, with a sound character rooted in the same frequency modulation techniques that made the Yamaha DX7 famous in the 80s.
