What it is
Gyrator X is a physics-based EQ from Okmog that models analog gyrator circuits at the component level rather than using standard digital filtering. It's built around a four-band design (Low, Mid, High, and a proprietary "Sky Band"), including a resurrected 1970s low-shelf circuit topology and multiple filter modes (Sallen-Key, Multiple Feedback, State Variable), plus dual ADAA saturation stages that emulate tube, transistor, diode, and JFET behavior.
Who it's for
Mixing and mastering engineers who want hardware-style tone shaping on individual tracks or full mixes, especially those chasing the weight and interaction of analog consoles rather than a clinical digital curve.
Key features
- Four-band EQ with a dedicated Sky Band for air and shimmer
- Component-level circuit modeling across multiple classic filter topologies
- Dual ADAA saturation stages for tube, transistor, diode, and JFET coloration
- Mid/side and left/right routing with automatic output gain matching and A/B comparison
