What it is

Maximal 3 is a loudness maximizer from Venomode built for the final stage of mixing and mastering. It stacks a true-peak brickwall limiter with lookahead detection, a variable soft clipper for shaping peaks before they hit the limiter, and broadcast-standard loudness metering based on ITU-R BS.1770-4 (LUFS and true-peak). The soft clipper lets you add drive before the limiter catches peaks, so the limiter does less work and the master stays cleaner at higher loudness levels. Available as VST, VST3, Audio Unit, and AAX.
