What it is
Mic Mod is a microphone modeling plugin from Antares (the makers of Auto-Tune) that digitally recreates the tonal character of more than 100 classic and modern microphones, spanning brands like Neumann, AKG, and Telefunken. Rather than simulating a whole signal chain, it focuses specifically on the color a different mic would add: you tell it what microphone you actually recorded with and what microphone you wish you'd used, and it reshapes the frequency response and proximity behavior to match. Built-in tube saturation and gain controls let you push the emulation further into analog-style warmth.
