What it is
Oxford Dynamics is a professional dynamics processor by Sonnox, derived from the processing engine in the Sony OXF-R3 broadcast console. It packs six independent processes into a single plugin: gate, expander, compressor, limiter, and a 2-band sidechain EQ, giving you a full dynamics chain in one interface. Three compressor types - Normal, Classic, and Linear - let you dial in the right character for any source.
Who it's for
Mix engineers and producers who need a full-featured, console-derived dynamics processor for tracking and mixing. It works well on vocals, buses, and any source where low noise and distortion matter.
Key features
- Gate, Expander, Compressor, Limiter, and 2-band sidechain EQ are all available independently in one plugin
- Three compressor modes - Normal, Classic, and Linear - cover everything from smooth glue to surgical control
- A Warmth mode adds optional tube-like saturation for analog color
- Variable soft knee (0 dBr to -20 dBr) gives fine-grained control over compression onset
