What it is
Oxford Envolution is a frequency-dependent envelope shaper from Sonnox that gives independent control over transients and sustain. It uses tilt and parametric frequency targeting to focus the shaping on specific parts of the spectrum, so you can tighten the attack of a kick drum without touching its body, or extend the sustain of a pad without affecting its transient snap. Available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
Who it's for
Mix engineers and producers who need precise, frequency-targeted dynamic shaping on drums, bass, and percussive elements - especially those who want more surgical control than a standard broadband transient shaper offers.
Key features
- Frequency-dependent transient and sustain control using tilt or parametric targeting for frequency-specific shaping
- DIFF button solos the processed signal so you can hear exactly what the plugin is adding or removing
- Parallel processing with zero phase cancellation blends the shaped and dry signals cleanly
- Warmth control introduces harmonic saturation for added tonal color alongside the dynamic control
