What it is
EastWest Pianos is a sampled piano virtual instrument built around four world-class concert grand pianos: a Bechstein D-280, Steinway D, Bosendorfer 290, and Yamaha C7. Each piano was captured with three microphone positions, up to 18 velocity layers per note, and 8 articulations including sustain, pedal variations, repetitions, soft pedal, and staccato, adding up to roughly 60GB of samples per instrument. The library was recorded by engineer Ken Scott, known for his work with The Beatles and David Bowie, and aims for a realistic acoustic piano sound across classical, jazz, film, and contemporary styles.
Who it's for
Composers scoring film, TV, and games, plus producers and musicians who need a convincing acoustic grand piano anchoring an orchestral cue, jazz record, or singer-songwriter track.
