What it is
PrimalTap is a software emulation of the Prime Time hardware delay unit from 1978, a hybrid digital/analog box that defined the sound of 80s recordings. Soundtoys' version expands on the original's 128-256ms delay ceiling to a full 2500 milliseconds while preserving the characteristic lo-fi grit and pitch instability that made the hardware famous. Dual delay lines, a unique Multiply control, VCO modulation, and a real-time Freeze function make it one of the more expressive delay plugins available.
