Kailaya Vathiyam is a virtual percussion instrument from Pitch Innovations' Sonic Atlas series, modeled on a traditional South Indian temple drum. It's built around deep goat-skin resonance and heavy low-end weight, with call-and-response phrasing captured between a lead player and ensemble. Pitch Innovations recorded the library with 13 temple percussionists to capture ceremonial patterns that haven't been sampled at this quality before, giving the instrument a size and realism that's hard to fake with generic percussion samples.
