What it is
Sound Dust Vol. 1 is an orchestral library for Native Instruments Kontakt, built around six unusual acoustic instruments recorded by British composer and sound artist Pendle Poucher. The collection leans into raw, unconventional tones - dulcitones, autoharps, and aged pianos that sit outside the typical orchestral template. It was created at Poucher's Toy Rooms Studio in Brighton, UK, and distributed by Spitfire Audio.
Key features
- Six distinct instruments including pianos, autoharps, and dulcitones, each with their own sonic character
- Onboard parameter controls per instrument for tone shaping within Kontakt
- Built-in effects per instrument for tail and texture experimentation
- Designed around Poucher's background in sound installations and experimental composition
Who it's for
Composers working in film, TV, or ambient music who want orchestral color without reaching for the same libraries everyone else is using. Also useful for producers who layer acoustic textures into electronic or hybrid tracks.
