What it is
The Synchron Fazioli F308 Standard Library is a sampled recreation of the Fazioli F308, the world's largest concert grand piano at 308 cm (10 ft 2 in). VSL recorded the instrument on Stage A of the Vienna Synchron Stage, a 540-square-meter hall whose acoustics give the library its expansive, concert-hall character. The F308's extended string length in the bass and middle range produces the powerful sound and harmonic clarity the instrument is known for, and the sampled piano includes a fourth pedal - a Fazioli innovation that lowers the keyboard and brings the hammers closer to the strings for softer, more intimate playing.
