What it is
TINGKLIK is a Kontakt instrument built around a Balinese bamboo percussion instrument - twelve tubes suspended over a wooden frame, played with rubber-tipped mallets. Soniccouture sampled it with 14 velocity layers and 6 round-robin alternate samples for a genuinely organic feel. Both the original Balinese tuning and a full chromatic Western tuning are included.
Who it's for
Producers and composers drawn to distinctive world percussion textures, particularly those working in ambient, cinematic, or experimental electronic music who want authentic Balinese gamelan sounds that stand apart from standard sample libraries.
Key features
- 14 velocity layers and 6 round-robin alternate samples deliver natural, expressive playback with no mechanical repetition
- Both original Balinese tuning and chromatic Western tuning let you work in traditional or contemporary contexts
- Calder, a generative device, creates evolving melodic patterns without manual sequencing
- Paired Tingklik doubling mode simulates the traditional two-player Rindik performance style
