What it is
Tremphatic is a threshold-triggered tremolo effect plugin (VST3) from Wire Grind. Instead of running a tremolo LFO continuously, it only modulates amplitude when the input signal crosses a level you set, so the effect reacts to actual playing dynamics rather than ticking away at a fixed rate. It includes 21 selectable LFO waveforms, tempo-synced note divisions, and an external sidechain input that lets one track's signal trigger tremolo on another.
Who it's for
Producers working in trip-hop, dub, and guitar-driven styles who want tremolo that responds to performance dynamics instead of a static, always-on LFO. It's also a lightweight way to add rhythmic, sidechain-style movement into vocals, guitars, pads, or synths without setting up a full sidechain compressor chain.
Key features
- 21 selectable LFO waveforms for shaping the tremolo cycle
- Threshold-based cycling modes ("at least," "at most," "exactly") that control precisely when and how often modulation fires
- Tempo-sync across five note-length divisions, plus lookahead and ducking controls for tighter timing
- External sidechain input with linked or independent left/right channel processing
