The UAD Sound City Studios plug-in models the early-1970s custom British console from Studio A at Sound City Studios in Van Nuys, the room behind Nirvana's Nevermind, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, and records from Tom Petty and Rage Against the Machine. It pairs the console's 3-band EQ and inline bus compression with an 1176 Rev E compressor and the first-ever emulation of the Dolby A301 noise reduction unit the studio's engineers used for tracking. A separate chamber module recreates the room's real echo chamber, with repositionable vintage microphones, adjustable pre-delay, stereo width, and reverb duration.
