What it is
Antelope Audio's VEQ-4K Orange is a plugin recreation of a rare Japanese variation of a classic 80s British console's channel-strip EQ module. It puts four EQ bands and switchable low- and high-pass filters at your fingertips, all voiced with vintage valve-style curves. Antelope describes this Orange revision as sitting sonically closer to a Pultec-style EQ than the more commonly modeled VEQ-4K variants, giving it a distinct, slightly different color from the rest of the VEQ-4K line.
Who it's for
Mixing engineers and producers who want analog-console warmth on vocals, drums, and mix buses, and who are curious about a less common vintage EQ character rather than the usual console-EQ emulation. It suits anyone already building out a collection of hardware-modeled EQs who wants a distinct flavor alongside the more standard options.
