What it is
BLEASS Phase Mutant is an FM distortion plugin that applies frequency modulation to any input signal. It can modulate the incoming audio with itself, with a built-in oscillator, or use the input to modulate a generated signal, opening up everything from subtle harmonic grit to fully mutated, alien textures.
Who it's for
Sound designers and producers who want to push vocals, basses, and drums into more aggressive or unusual territory. Anyone building FM-style textures without a full FM synth, or looking for a distortion effect that does more than add grit, will get a lot of mileage out of this one.
Key features
- An FM distortion engine that layers frequency modulation onto any audio source using input, oscillator, or self-modulation modes
- A pitch-tracking oscillator that follows the input signal in real time with an adjustable frequency ratio for expressive tonal shifts
- Waveform control that morphs between sine, triangle, saw, and square shapes with phase offset for stereo width
- Two LFOs, an envelope follower, and a step sequencer for modulation sources that keep the effect moving and evolving
