What it is
DrumX is a groove-focused drum machine plugin built on EastWest's Opus engine. It bundles 10 legendary drum machines - TR-808, TR-909, TR-606, LinnDrum, LM-1, DR-55, DR-110, DMX, DrumTraks, and SP-12 - each deeply sampled with up to four-times round robin, real room ambience, and five levels of Studer tape saturation (including a rare J-37 model). The instrument is built around Jimmy Jam's own groove programming, giving it an authentic, musical feel straight out of the box.
Who it's for
Producers working in hip-hop, R&B, pop, and electronic music who want vintage drum machine character without tracking down or maintaining real hardware, and anyone who prefers building beats with a hands-on step sequencer over programming individual hits by hand.
Key features
- A 16-track step sequencer paired with Jimmy Jam's exclusive groove kits for instant, musical starting points
- DX Pitched turns drum hits into melodic, pitched instruments, while DX Stacks and DX Layers let you combine and swap textures across machines on the fly
- Studer tape saturation and re-amping through EastWest's Studio 1 and 2 rooms add analog warmth to every hit
- Full NKS compatibility plus standalone, AAX, AU, and VST3 formats cover macOS and Windows
