What it is
The Pulsar Echorec is a circuit-modeled recreation of the Binson Echorec 2, a magnetic disk delay from the 1960s beloved by Pink Floyd, Jimmy Page, and The Shadows. Pulsar's advanced modeling captures both the tube circuit warmth and the magnetic saturation that gave the original its distinctly organic, slightly worn echo character.
Who it's for
Guitarists, producers, and sound designers working in psychedelic, dub, ambient, or experimental music - anyone chasing warm, imperfect vintage delay textures that pristine digital delays cannot replicate.
Key features
- Variable disc speed controls delay time while preserving authentic magnetic drift
- Stereo Drift parameter recreates the natural timing inconsistencies of the original hardware
- Off mode repurposes the plugin as a standalone tube and magnetic saturation unit
- Finger modulation simulates pressing the spinning disk to create real-time pitch and time modulation effects
