What it is
Electric Taishogoto Vol 02 - Tokyo Tapes is a Kontakt instrument built around an electric soprano taishogoto, a Japanese harp, recorded in the early 1990s. The samples were then run through vintage and boutique gear, including a 70s tape delay, an 80s reel-to-reel recorder, spring reverb and lo-fi pedals. The result is a dusty, lo-fi plucked tone with plenty of old-tape character.
Who it's for
Producers making lo-fi, ambient, cinematic or beat-driven music who want an unusual plucked texture with built-in vintage grit. It suits anyone who needs a Japanese-flavored string sound that sits in a mix without sounding sterile. It requires full Kontakt 6.8 or higher and does not work with the free Kontakt Player.

- Two velocity settings for key presses
- Built-in delay, reverb and flanger effects
- A 3-band EQ, a mastering compressor and two ADSR envelopes for shaping the tone
- The download is 4.52GB
