What it is

FutzVerb V7 is a multi-effect plugin from McDSP that combines a reverb with filtering, distortion, and lo-fi processing. It builds on the company's FutzBox device-simulation idea and adds a reverb tank with several algorithms, from realistic spaces to experimental textures. It also includes a sub-octave generator and downsampling and bit reduction for degraded tones.

Who it's for

Producers, mixers, and sound designers who want reverb that can be wrecked on purpose, such as telephone vocals, crushed drum rooms, or dirty ambient textures. It also suits post-production work that needs convincing device and speaker simulations.

Key features

• Synthetic Impulse Models (SIMs) can be placed before, after, or inside the reverb tank to shape the sound of the space.
