What it is
Ghost Koil is a Kontakt instrument library from Triumph Audio's Ghost Series, built from bowed springs, screws, saws, and other found metal objects recorded as raw acoustic performances and then pushed through modular processing. It covers haunting drones, evolving pads, unsettling textures, playable bowed instruments, metallic percussion, and unpredictable MOD FX patches that morph between raw and processed sound in real time. It requires the full retail version of Kontakt 6.8.0 or later - it is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player.
Who it's for
Composers and sound designers scoring horror, dark cinematic, psychological thriller, or ambient projects who want organic, unsettling textures instead of clean orchestral or electronic sounds.
Key features
- 327 main patches (621 total including alternate TMP versions) organized into pitched menus, transposable menus, drones and pads, bass and leads, loops, and modular sequences
- MOD FX patches use the mod wheel to blend between a raw recording and a heavily processed version of the same sound
- The Layer Mixer on the Triumph Audio Engine's main page lets you adjust gain, pan, and tuning per layer
- The full library runs 7.23 GB and is powered by Triumph Audio's custom sample engine
