What it is

HAPTIC PERC is a physically modeled percussion plugin from Sampleson that turns microphone input into percussion. You tap, scratch or knock on everyday objects, and the plugin excites its percussion models to produce conga, bongo, triangle and glass bar style tones. It ships as both a VST effect and a VSTi instrument.

Who it's for

Producers and sound designers who want hands-on, performable percussion without sample libraries. It suits anyone who likes recording rhythms off a desk or a laptop and shaping them into real instrument sounds.

Key features

• Physically modeled percussion in both VST effect and VSTi instrument formats
• Six parameters let you shape surface, resonance and size
• A built-in ambient reverb adds space without extra plugins
• It works with a laptop microphone or a studio mic and comes with 11 presets in a roughly 35 MB install
