What it is
Hollywood Fantasy Brass is a cinematic brass sample library from EastWest's Hollywood Fantasy Orchestra series, designed for fantasy film, TV, and game scoring. It features ensembles of historically iconic brass instruments - flugelhorns, Wagner tubas, alpenhorns, and a powerhouse low brass section (trombones, cimbassos, tuba) - recorded on the same Hollywood soundstage as EastWest's acclaimed Hollywood Orchestra. Each instrument is delivered in ensembles of three with broad articulation sets and true legato, running inside EastWest's Opus player.
Who it's for
Composers and producers scoring fantasy epics, RPGs, or cinematic trailers who need authentic period brass that blends seamlessly with a modern orchestral palette - particularly anyone who has found standard trumpet and French horn libraries falling short of that distinctive fantasy sound.
Key features
- Three ensemble instruments not found in standard orchestral libraries - flugelhorns, Wagner tubas, and alpenhorns - each recorded in groups of three for a cinematic, blended sound rather than solo exposure
- Four separate mic positions (Close, Mid, Main, Surround) give you full control over the depth and dimension of the brass
- Three programmable mood settings (Classic, Soft, Epic) let you shift from authentic period tone to full cinematic power without leaving the instrument
- The low brass section - trombones, cimbassos, and tuba - adds growling dark weight that complements or replaces standard Hollywood brass in the low register
