What it is
Krotala is a Kontakt instrument by Rare Sound Essence built around reconstructed krotala, the small metallic clappers played by dancers in ancient Mediterranean ritual music. The library draws on archaeomusicological research to recreate the instrument's bright, clattering tone, then organizes it into four distinct sound families, each offering both rhythmic loops and single-strike hits. That split gives producers a fast way to drop in ready-made grooves or build custom rhythms from individual hits. It requires the full version of Kontakt 7.8.1 or later and is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player.
