What it is

Liminal: Tactile Reeds is a Kontakt instrument library (full version 6.7+ required) built from intimately recorded woodwind instruments - Clarinet, Tenor Sax, Baritone Sax, Oboe, and Bassoon. Rather than traditional melodic articulations, it focuses on aleatoric, evolving, and long-form performances across 26 core articulations and 78 sample banks (52 solo, 26 ensemble). Pianissimo Clarinet performances were recorded with microphones placed centimeters from the instrument to capture air moving through it, producing airy, fragile tones that sit somewhere between breath and pitch. The library is built around the idea that the performer's organic imperfections and movements are features, not flaws.
