What it is
Kevin's Limiter is a collaboration between Metric Halo and Make Believe Studios that skips the usual knobs entirely. Instead of a threshold, ceiling, and release to dial in, it's a single on/off limiter with the internal settings pre-tuned by the developers. The tradeoff is intentional: it's described as "not the cleanest, but it just sounds great," favoring a distinct sonic character over surgical transparency.
Who it's for
Producers and mixing engineers who want to add instant punch and glue to a mix bus or master without spending time tweaking limiter settings, and who prefer a limiter with some sonic personality over a purely transparent one.
