What it is
MSymphonia: Bells & Mallets is a nearly 10GB sampled library of melodic percussion for MeldaProduction's MSoundFactory instrument. It was recorded in professional sessions with the Budapest Symphonic Orchestra, so the sound is natural and orchestral rather than synthetic. It covers seven instruments: Celesta, Crotales, Glockenspiel, Marimba, Tubular Bells, Vibraphone, and Xylophone.
Who it's for
Composers and producers who write for film, games, or pop and want realistic tuned percussion, from sparkly top-line layers to mallet-driven rhythmic parts. It suits anyone already working in MSoundFactory, or happy to use it as the host for this library.
Key features
- Four microphone setups (Close, Decca, Mid, and Outrigger) each have their own mix controls
- Roll Keys let you trigger realistic tremolos and fast repetitions without programming each hit
- Up to 7 round-robin variations per note reduce the machine-gun effect on repeated notes
- Mallet hardness, body resonance, and tone color are adjustable, and there is a built-in 3-band EQ and algorithmic reverb with space presets
