What it is
Precognition Dynamics is a look-ahead brickwall limiter built around predictive gain reduction. Instead of reacting after a signal crosses the threshold, it delays the audio and computes the gain reduction in advance, which lets it hit a hard ceiling with zero overshoot at any attack setting. Independent controls for transient punch and ceiling level mean you can shape how much of the transient comes through without touching the final output level.
Who it's for
Mixing and mastering engineers who need transparent peak control and precise transient shaping on a bus or master chain, not producers tracking or monitoring live (the plugin runs up to 500ms of look-ahead latency and needs delay compensation).
Key features
- Adjustable look-ahead window from 20 to 500ms for balancing transparency against latency
- Advanced detector with high-pass, low-pass, and swept bell filtering for frequency-conscious limiting
- External sidechain input plus four-band sustain and transient trim for surgical dynamics control
- Stereo link, parallel mix, crest factor readouts, and delta monitoring for detailed gain-reduction feedback
