What it is
Qanun is a virtual psaltery instrument by Best Service, recreating the classical Middle Eastern plucked-string instrument with roots stretching back over a thousand years. Crafted by Syrian multi-instrumentalist Bassam Ayoub, it features 22 articulations with up to 16 round robins, multiple velocity layers, and integrated Maqam microtunings covering Bayati, Rast, Saba, and Seka modes. It runs in the free Engine Player on both Mac and Windows.
