What it is
SPLINTERED Redux Bundle packages three standalone instruments - Clarinet, Cello, and Soundboard - built from Occult Audio's original hand-mangled recordings of breath, bow noise, bridge scrapes, and a gutted piano soundboard's struck strings. All three run through the same granular engine, with controls over grain size, density, spray, position, and pitch. Scrub through the clarinet's breath takes and the result is airy and unstable; scrub through the cello's bridge recordings and it turns scratchy and tense; the soundboard hits never quite settle into stillness. The instruments are delivered as standalone VST3 and AU plugins, so no Kontakt install is required.
