TAPE FX is a Kontakt instrument (requires full Kontakt 5.5+) from Soundiron, built from acoustic recordings captured through damaged cassette and microcassette tapes, then further mangled with tape-degradation processing. It packs 754 samples across 8 presets and 19 percussion kits, spanning gritty snares and toms to mechanical tape-recorder artifacts like button clicks and motor whirs. The result sits somewhere between found-percussion and glitch electronics, with plenty of wow, flutter, and lo-fi grit baked in.
