What it is

The BA-6A is a vari-mu tube compressor plugin from Antelope Audio modeled after a 1950s limiting amplifier design. It recreates the three-stage amplification, nine valves, rectifier, and voltage regulator of the original hardware, producing characterful harmonic distortion alongside its compression. Unlike optical compressors, it uses true tube-based vari-mu compression for a faster, more musical response.
