Epicycles is a 111-preset expansion pack for Applied Acoustics Systems' Chromaphone physical modeling synthesizer, designed by award-winning sound designer Richard Devine. The collection covers nine categories - Soundscapes, Basses, Plucked Strings, Keys, Synths, Strings and Pads, Percussions, Arps, and Effects - each pushing Chromaphone's resonance engine into experimental, abstract terrain. The overall sonic character is described as "unsettling and opaque," offering textures that feel genuinely distinct from conventional synthesis packs.
