What it is

The UADx Lexicon 224 Digital Reverb models the hardware unit that appeared on thousands of classic records from the late 70s through the 90s. The original hardware cost more than a car when new - its lush, dense reverb tail and distinct concert and plate programs shaped the sound of pop, R&B, and rock production for over a decade. UA''s emulation uses the same underlying algorithms as the original hardware, running on the host CPU rather than requiring UAD-2 hardware.

Who it''s for

Mix engineers and producers working in any genre who want genuine vintage digital reverb character - particularly the dense, warm plate and concert programs that defined 80s drum and vocal sounds.

Key features

  • Eight classic reverb programs plus a chorus mode, all based on the original 1978 hardware algorithms
  • Plate and Concert programs deliver the famously lush reverb tail associated with classic recordings from that era
  • Slider-based controller interface matches the original hardware layout for an intuitive workflow
  • Includes presets from engineers including Chuck Zwicky (Prince) and Kevin Killen (Peter Gabriel)
