Description

FuruBass-JB1965 Lite is a vintage Jazz Bass library for the full version of Kontakt. It captures the core tone of FuruSamples' paid FuruBass-JB1965 instrument, using a real 1965 Fender Jazz Bass recorded through Takahiro Furukawa's own studio setup.

The Lite edition is intentionally focused: one fingerstyle articulation library and the BaMix tone, which blends DI and amp signals into a ready-to-use bass sound. There are no key switches or deep menus, so it is built more for quickly playing realistic bass parts than for managing a large orchestral-style articulation map.

Performance details give the library more movement than a basic one-shot bass patch. Alternating index and middle finger picking, velocity-triggered slide-ups, ghost notes, string touch noises, glissando variations, and sustain-pedal legato help repeated notes and connected lines feel less static.

The tradeoff is that this is a limited Lite version, not the unrestricted commercial library. Pick and slap articulations, separate Line and Amp tones, the complete articulation system, and unlimited interface use are reserved for the paid FuruBass-JB1965, while the Lite interface greys out after 20 minutes and plays a periodic voice reminder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does FuruBass-JB1965 Lite work in Kontakt Player?

No. FuruSamples states that it requires the full version of Kontakt 5.8.1 or later, and BPB confirms that it is not compatible with the free Kontakt Player. Users who only have Kontakt Player should expect it to run in demo mode rather than as a normal library.

What is included in the Lite version?

The Lite version includes the fingerstyle articulation library and the BaMix tone, which blends DI and amp signals. It also includes alternating finger picking, velocity-based slide-ups, ghost notes, string touch noises, multiple glissando variations, and sustain-pedal mono/legato behavior.

What are the main limitations compared with the full FuruBass-JB1965?

Pick and slap libraries are not included, and the Lite version only includes the BaMix tone rather than separate Line and Amp tones. After 20 minutes, the interface becomes greyed out and a periodic voice reminder announces the Lite version.

Can the library be used in released music?

Yes. The Gumroad product page says the license allows use in music productions and commercial releases. It also prohibits redistribution or resampling of the raw audio files.
