Description

8TT is an OTT-style multiband dynamics plugin that expands the familiar upward and downward compression workflow into as many as eight draggable bands. It is built for shaping punch, density, and forwardness on drums, synths, basses, vocals, and other sources that need more energy without setting up a full multiband chain.

The main difference from a standard three-band OTT workflow is control. You can drag crossover boundaries, remove bands by dragging through them, double-click to split a band, and adjust threshold or ratio directly from the band display.

That makes 8TT useful when the classic OTT effect is close but too broad. Instead of pushing the whole spectrum equally, you can focus the effect on the ranges that need lift, bite, or clamp while leaving other bands less affected.

The plugin also includes deeper options for heavier production work, including sidechain mode, an output limiter, interface resizing, color changes, and up to 8x oversampling. A free license checkout is required on the developer site, and BPB notes that activation needs an internet connection.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is 8TT different from the original OTT plugin?

8TT keeps the familiar upward and downward multiband compression idea but expands the workflow to as many as eight bands. The extra bands make it easier to focus the effect on specific frequency ranges instead of applying one broad three-band curve.

Does 8TT require an account or license checkout?

Yes. The official page uses a free license checkout, and BPB reports that users need to register on the developer site to get a license.

What kind of material benefits most from 8TT?

It is best suited to sources where obvious density and presence are part of the sound, such as EDM drums, basses, synths, plucks, and vocal effects. Used lightly, it can also add controlled forwardness without committing to the full OTT smash.

Can 8TT do sidechain dynamics?

Yes. The official page lists sidechain mode as a pro-user option, which can be used for ducking or expansion relative to another track.
