Description
Astral Forms is a LABS instrument from Spitfire Audio that delivers an ethereal collection of textures built from vocals, double bass, electric guitar, saxophones, and other organic sources. Recorded at a legendary composer's home in New York, the library was created in collaboration with the Abram Wilson charity, which supports underrepresented talent in the music industry.
The 10 presets range from shimmering vocal pads and granular choirs to gritty bowed guitar drones and harmonic bass textures. Each sound was performed by a roster of professional musicians — including Naima Adams, Emma Johnson, Plumm, Sans Soucis, David Austin Grey, Daniel Kemshell, Joe Downard, and Shereece Storrod — then sculpted by the Spitfire Audio team into playable instruments.
Astral Forms runs inside the dedicated Spitfire Audio App, which provides simplified controls with expression and dynamics sliders plus a customizable modulation knob. The sounds span a wide emotional range, from beautiful and beguiling to dark and atmospheric, making them well suited for film scoring, ambient production, and adding cinematic depth to any arrangement.
The library weighs in at 435.4 MB and loads as a single plugin instance. While the controls are intentionally minimal, the quality of the source recordings and Spitfire's processing give each preset a rich, evolving character that sits naturally in a mix without heavy layering.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Astral Forms require the full Kontakt or any paid Spitfire product?
No. Astral Forms runs inside the Spitfire Audio App (formerly LABS plugin), which is completely standalone and does not require Kontakt or any other Spitfire product. You just need to download the Spitfire Audio App and install the Astral Forms pack from within it.
How many presets are included and what kind of sounds do they cover?
Astral Forms includes 10 presets covering a range of ethereal textures. These include Chorus Pad, Vocal Pad, Sax Organ, Nasty Tines, Harmonic Bass, Guitar Bowed Drone, Corruption Pad, Granular Choir, Circular Mmm's, and Breathy Mist. Each preset offers a different character from bright and shimmering to dark and atmospheric.
Can I adjust the sound beyond the default preset settings?
The Spitfire Audio App provides expression and dynamics sliders plus a large customizable modulation knob for real-time sound shaping. While these controls are more streamlined than a full sampler, they give you meaningful tonal variation and dynamic range within each preset.
