Key Features

  • Clarity control ducks the reverb tail while the source is playing, then lets the ambience return in the gaps.
  • Band-by-band unmasking helps the wet signal step around the dry source instead of only turning the whole reverb down.
  • Size and Decay controls cover room scale and tail length without separating the workflow across deep menus.
  • Mix control supports insert use and simple wet/dry balancing for tracks, buses, and reverb sends.
  • Visual display shows gain reduction and spectrum behavior so the ducking action is easy to understand.
  • Uses the same core engine as the paid AURA plugin, fixed to its Hall character for a focused lightweight edition.
  • Commercial license and lifetime updates are included on the official product page.

Description

AURA Lite is a compact algorithmic reverb from FRCTL Audio built around one practical mixing idea: the tail should move out of the way while the source is playing. Its Clarity control ducks and unmasks the wet signal internally, so vocal, lead, synth, and drum reverbs can stay wetter without burying the dry sound.

The interface is intentionally minimal, with Size, Decay, Clarity, and Mix handling the whole workflow. Size sets the space, Decay controls the ring time, Mix balances dry and wet, and the display shows gain reduction and spectrum behavior as the tail is shaped.

AURA Lite uses the same core engine as the paid AURA plugin, but it is fixed to the Hall character and omits the deeper controls. The full version adds extra reverb characters, Duck Lows, attack and release settings for the clarity stage, predelay, early reflections, gate, editable decay curves, A/B, Delta, and external sidechain support.

The result is a fast utility reverb for producers who usually set up sidechain compression or automation just to keep long ambience clear. It is especially useful when a vocal, snare, pluck, or melodic lead needs space that blooms between phrases instead of sitting on top of every transient.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the Clarity control do in AURA Lite?

Clarity turns the reverb tail down while the incoming signal is present, then lets it rise again between phrases. FRCTL also describes it as spectral unmasking, so the tail can be reduced around the source across frequency bands rather than only with a broad volume duck.

How is AURA Lite different from the paid AURA plugin?

AURA Lite keeps four controls: Size, Decay, Clarity, and Mix, and it runs on a fixed Hall character. The paid AURA adds six more characters, deeper clarity controls, predelay, early reflections, gate, editable decay shaping, A/B, Delta, external sidechain, and preset features.

Can AURA Lite replace a sidechain compressor on a reverb send?

For common ducked-reverb duties, yes. The plugin keys its ducking behavior from the signal feeding it, so it can create the classic reverb-ducks-under-the-vocal effect without routing a separate sidechain compressor.

Does AURA Lite work for subtle reverb, or only obvious pumping effects?

It can be used subtly because the core controls are still standard reverb controls. Lower Clarity and Mix settings keep the behavior more transparent, while higher Clarity settings make the tail movement more obvious.
