Key Features

  • Hilbert Transform-based 3D Aura processing phase-rotates the mid signal and injects it into the side channel for added spatial depth.
  • Wide control boosts the side signal independently, so basic stereo width changes can be made without engaging the 3D Aura module.
  • 3D Focus adds delay to the 3D Aura signal, with Standard mode covering precise 0-3 ms adjustments and Extend mode reaching up to 15 ms for creative widening.
  • High-pass and low-pass filters define the processing range, helping keep low-end material tighter while shaping width in selected bands.
  • Wet solo monitoring makes it easier to hear only the processed signal or set up the plugin on a parallel aux bus.
  • Version 1.1.0 adds soft bypass, four factory presets, and a manual update check inside the interface.

Description

Auralizer is a stereo image processor from JB Project Studio built around Hilbert Transform widening. It phase-rotates the mid signal by 90 degrees with FIR filtering, feeds that signal into the side channel, and aims to create deeper stage width without breaking mono compatibility.

The main workflow is simple enough for fast mix decisions but technical enough for mastering and bus work. Wide boosts the side signal, 3D Aura handles the Hilbert-based spatial effect, and 3D Focus adds a short delay to shape the perceived depth and focus of the image.

Auralizer also includes high-pass and low-pass filters for limiting where the widening happens, plus a Wet control for checking only the processed signal or using the plugin in parallel. Standard mode keeps 3D Focus in a precise 0-3 ms range, while Extend mode reaches up to 15 ms for more obvious creative widening on synths, guitars, and other sources.

The current 1.1.0 release adds soft bypass, four factory presets, and a manual update-check utility. The official repository labels the plugin as free for Windows, macOS, and Linux, with VST3 builds for all three platforms and AU support on macOS.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does Auralizer do differently from a basic width knob?

Auralizer combines a simple side-level Wide control with a Hilbert Transform-based 3D Aura module. The 3D Aura process phase-rotates the mid signal and feeds it into the side channel, so it is designed for depth and width rather than only turning up the side signal.

What is the difference between Standard and Extend mode?

Standard mode keeps the 3D Focus delay in a narrow 0-3 ms range for precise mix or mastering adjustments. Extend mode reaches up to 15 ms, which makes the widening effect more obvious and better suited to creative sound design on individual instruments.

Can Auralizer be used on a full mix?

Yes. The official README describes it as suitable for mastering, mix buses, sub-groups, and individual tracks, but it also warns that the controls require careful listening beyond conservative settings.

Does Auralizer include both Windows and Linux builds?

Yes. The latest GitHub release provides separate Windows VST3, Linux VST3, and macOS VST3/AU downloads, and KVR also lists it as available for macOS, Windows, and Linux.
