Description

Blue Lue is a Windows VSTi MIDI drum machine from Fanan Team that generates drum parts without making sound on its own. It routes General MIDI drum patterns to another drum instrument in your DAW, making it useful when you want performance-ready grooves for an existing kit plugin.

The workflow is built around three style slots that run back to back inside a loaded set. Each set contains three styles, each style offers eight variations, and the factory library covers 880 pre-made drum styles across 10 broad genre groups.

For live sketching and arrangement work, Blue Lue splits the keyboard into a style-playing range and a drum-kit playing range. That lets you trigger complete styles, fills, variations, or individual drum notes from a MIDI controller or the on-screen keyboard.

Tempo handling is flexible enough for quick sessions, with host sync, tap tempo, freehand BPM, and per-style half-time or double-time playback. A favorites page stores up to 15 saved sets for instant recall, and MIDI learn makes those choices easier to map for performance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Blue Lue include drum sounds?

No. The developer describes Blue Lue as a MIDI tool sequencer that makes no sound by itself. It is designed to drive a separate General MIDI-compatible drum VSTi or drum instrument in your DAW.

How are the drum styles organized?

Blue Lue uses loaded sets with three style slots that can run back to back. Each style includes eight possible variations, and the built-in library provides 880 styles divided into 10 genre groups.

Can Blue Lue be used for live performance?

Yes. The keyboard is divided into a style-playing range and a drum-kit playing range, so you can trigger arrangements, fills, variations, and individual drum notes from hardware or the UI. The favorites page and MIDI learn support also help with fast recall.

What plugin formats are listed by the developer?

The current Fanan Team product entry lists Blue Lue as VSTi for Windows 32bit and Windows 64bit. No macOS, Linux, AU, AAX, VST3, or CLAP builds were listed on the resolved developer page.
