Key Features

  • Band-based drum processing that reacts to attack and decay instead of applying one broad full-range effect
  • Drawable spectrum editor for choosing which frequency areas ring out and which stay tight
  • Two spectrum states with XY morphing for moving between alternate drum treatments
  • Depth-style control for shifting from subtle weight and space to heavily transformed loop destruction
  • Built-in saturation and automatic gain compensation for stronger processing with easier dry/wet comparison
  • 20 factory presets plus unlimited user preset saving for repeatable custom mangling setups

Description

Feuer is a creative drum-processing effect from dBdone that turns loops, percussion, and grooves into frequency-shaped texture. It splits the incoming signal into bands, detects each band's attack and decay, then lets selected parts ring, distort, thicken, or bloom into reverb-like tails.

The main workflow is drawing two spectra, A and B, then using the XY pad to morph between them while the vertical axis controls how far the decay treatment goes. Low settings can add weight and space to a loop, while harder settings push breaks into glitchy, subby, or bitcrushed sound-design territory.

That makes Feuer more of a loop mangler than a normal saturation or mix-bus processor. It is best when you want a familiar drum break to stop sounding familiar, especially if you like making your own frequency shapes instead of scrolling through static effect presets.

The official page lists VST3, AU, and AAX support for Windows and macOS, plus built-in automatic gain compensation, saturation, 20 factory presets, and unlimited user preset saving. Download access starts from the dBdone product page and routes through the developer's account/newsletter flow, so SSA should keep this as an external download rather than mirroring installer files.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Feuer a normal transient shaper?

Not exactly. It uses transient-style attack and decay detection, but the point is creative band-by-band decay manipulation rather than only adding punch or reducing sustain.

What kind of source material suits Feuer best?

Feuer is designed around drums, percussion, breaks, and rhythmic loops. It can make subtle weight changes at low settings, but it is strongest when used as a sound-design effect on material you are willing to reshape heavily.

How does the spectrum drawing affect the sound?

The drawn spectrum decides which frequency regions are allowed to ring or stay controlled after Feuer detects hits. Drawing different A and B shapes lets you morph between two decay treatments from the XY pad.

Does Feuer require a dBdone account?

The public product page starts the download flow, and BPB reports that users enter an email address, subscribe, then return to the download page to access the link. Because that flow is handled by dBdone, the SSA download route should remain external.
