Key Features

  • Open modulation matrix lets you route all six FM operators freely instead of choosing preset algorithms.
  • Six operators each provide tuning, level, waveform, and ADSR-envelope controls for detailed harmonic shaping.
  • Five operator waveforms—Sine, Triangle, Saw, Square, and Noise—expand the starting palette beyond classic sine-only FM.
  • Operator 6 feedback and the Drift control add more unstable, organic, or aggressive movement to patches.
  • Built-in chorus and reverb add width and space without requiring an immediate external effects chain.
  • Velocity sensitivity, 16-voice polyphony, monophonic legato, random preset generation, and custom preset saving support both performance and experimentation.

Description

Delta6 is Hivetune's six-operator FM synth for producers who want flexible digital sound design without memorising a fixed algorithm chart. Its open modulation matrix makes the signal paths visible as you connect operators, so the instrument can move from familiar FM bells and electric-piano tones toward less conventional metallic, noisy, or unstable patches.

Each operator supplies tuning, level, waveform, and ADSR controls, with sine, triangle, saw, square, and noise sources available for changing the harmonic starting point. Operator 6 adds feedback, while Drift introduces subtle pitch movement; built-in chorus and reverb help turn raw FM patches into wider, more finished sounds.

Delta6 includes velocity response, up to 16 voices of polyphony, monophonic legato, a random-preset dice button, and a browser for finding, saving, and loading patches. These tools support experimenting from scratch as well as quickly shaping expressive basses, leads, plucks, pads, and digital textures.

Hivetune currently offers the fully featured Delta6 edition with 20 presets at $0, while the separately priced $4.99 Complete Edition expands the factory library to 100+ presets. The official Get it route opens Hivetune's Lemon Squeezy checkout and states that users will be subscribed to the developer's newsletter.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Delta6 different from a traditional FM synth?

Traditional FM instruments often ask you to select one of a fixed set of operator algorithms. Delta6 uses an open modulation matrix instead, so you connect the six operators freely and see the modulation flow while building a patch.

What does the $0 Delta6 edition include?

Hivetune describes the $0 Delta6 edition as fully featured and includes 20 presets. The separate Complete Edition is priced at $4.99 and expands the factory preset library to more than 100 presets.

Which systems and formats does Delta6 support?

On Windows, Hivetune lists Windows 10 or higher, 64-bit architecture, VST3, and a standalone application. On macOS, it lists macOS 11.0 Big Sur or higher, Apple Silicon and Intel processors, VST3, AU, and a standalone application.

Does the Delta6 download require signup?

Yes. Hivetune's official product page says users will be subscribed to its newsletter, and the launch coverage says the $0 checkout asks for an email address before the download link appears. SSA therefore keeps the developer-controlled product page as the external route.
