Description
DLYM by Imaginando is a delay-based modulation plugin that produces rich chorus and flanger effects from a deceptively simple interface. Inspired by the chorus engine of Imaginando's own DRC synthesizer, DLYM brings that signature warmth and movement to any DAW as a standalone effect.
The plugin offers two distinct processing modes: Analog Emulation for vintage character and Dimension Style, which recreates the motionless chorus sound made famous by classic Roland hardware. Six tempo-syncable modulation waveforms are available, including sine, square, saw, triangle, sample and hold, and filtered sample and hold.
A Crossover control lets you limit the modulation to a specific frequency range, so low-end content stays tight while upper harmonics receive the full chorus treatment. The adjustable Spread parameter gives precise control over stereo width, making it straightforward to transform a mono signal into an immersive stereo image.
Users praise DLYM for its ability to handle everything from subtle depth enhancement on vocals and snares to extreme modulation effects that radically reshape a sound. The large, precision knobs make fine-tuning parameters quick and intuitive, and 40 factory presets provide a solid starting point for creative experimentation.
The desktop version operates as an unlimited-time demo with full audio processing, though a license is required for saving and loading patches within projects. Plugin formats include VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX on both macOS and Windows.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Analog Emulation and Dimension Style modes?
Analog Emulation mode recreates the warm, slightly imperfect character of vintage analog chorus units with subtle pitch and timing variations. Dimension Style mode emulates the motionless chorus effect made famous by the Roland Dimension D, which adds stereo width and depth without the obvious pitch wobble of traditional chorus.
How does the Crossover control work in DLYM?
The Crossover control sets a frequency threshold that limits where the modulation effect is applied. This lets you keep bass frequencies tight and unprocessed while applying chorus or flanger movement to the mid and high frequencies, which is especially useful on full-mix buses or bass-heavy instruments.
Can DLYM produce flanger effects as well as chorus?
Yes. DLYM uses a short delay line as its core engine, and by adjusting the Time, Feedback, and Depth parameters you can dial in everything from subtle chorus doubling to aggressive metallic flanging. The six waveform options and tempo sync add further variation to both effect types.
Does the desktop version require a paid license to use?
DLYM operates as an unlimited-time demo on desktop with full audio processing capability. A paid license (39 EUR) is only required if you need to save and load patches from your DAW projects. The core effect processing works without any time restriction.
