DRUGS is a one-macro bus compressor from Gazillion Industries built specifically for drum groups and sampled breaks. Turning its DOSE control makes the signal denser without simply chasing loudness, aiming for dusty, slightly crushed drum texture with the room lifted beneath the hits.
DOSE moves the transfer curve, knee, attack, and release together, so the compression character changes as one coordinated system instead of requiring separate parameter choices. An adaptive release responds more quickly to transients and holds longer on sustained material, while automatic makeup gain follows the gain cell without changing the compression behavior.
The MIX control blends dry and processed audio with zero samples of latency, keeping parallel compression sample-aligned throughout its range. A switchable output limiter adds a soft ceiling at -0.3 dBFS and remains transparent below roughly -0.9 dBFS.
