Key Features

  • Two oscillators each offer six waveforms, tuning and pulse modulation controls.
  • Oscillator balance and sync shape how the two sources interact.
  • Two LFOs and a 7 by 14 matrix panel support modulation routing.
  • Two four-mode filters and selectable routing shape the signal path.
  • Built-in chorus, reverb and drive add effects inside the instrument.
  • Velocity response adjusts how the synth responds to keyboard dynamics.

Description

DSK Analog Matrix is a virtual analog-style synthesizer with two oscillators and a modulation matrix for shaping electronic instrument sounds. Its Windows VST interface brings oscillator routing, filters, modulation and effects together in one compact instrument.

Each oscillator offers six waveforms, octave and fine tuning, an amplitude envelope and pulse modulation. Oscillator balance and sync controls give you additional ways to combine the two sound sources before routing them through the filters.

Two LFOs and a 7 by 14 matrix panel let you connect modulation sources to synth parameters. Two filters provide four modes apiece, and the oscillator and filter routing controls allow different signal paths through the instrument.

Chorus, reverb and drive are available within the plugin, making it possible to add width, space or grit without immediately reaching for separate effects. Velocity response also gives a MIDI keyboard player a way to shape the instrument's response to playing dynamics.

The instrument is a 32-bit Windows VST, according to Plugins4Free, so check whether your host supports 32-bit plugins or needs a compatible bridge before installing. DSK Music offers Analog Matrix as a free download and states that its virtual instruments are free for private and commercial use.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which hosts can run DSK Analog Matrix?

Plugins4Free lists it as a 32-bit Windows VST instrument. Check your host’s 32-bit VST support; a compatible bridge may be necessary in a 64-bit host.

What does the modulation matrix provide?

DSK lists a 7 by 14 matrix panel alongside two LFOs. The panel lets you route modulation sources to synth parameters.

Does it include effects?

Yes. DSK lists chorus, reverb and drive as built-in effects.

Can I use it commercially?

DSK Music states that its virtual instruments are free for private and commercial use. The product is available from the developer’s dedicated download page.
