Description
Gorgon is an aggressive distortion effect from Inear Display for turning drums, synths, bass, and other audio into abrasive, circuit-bent textures. Its signal path combines distortion with FM ring modulation, comb filtering, sample-rate reduction, and a morphable lowpass/highpass filter, so it can move far beyond a conventional drive plug-in.
A signal follower can modulate most parameters from the incoming audio, letting a static setup react to hits and changes in level. An integrated EQ provides a final stage for shaping the processed result after the destructive effects.
The effect is especially suited to electronic drum beats where sharp impacts, metallic ringing, filtered noise, and digital degradation are useful parts of the sound rather than mistakes to remove. It also gives experimental producers a compact way to reshape synth patterns and bass into harsher, less predictable material.
